New Brunswick Driver’s Beginner Practice Test

When approaching a school zone with reduced speed limits, it is essential to reduce your speed significantly. This decrease in speed enhances safety for children who may be crossing the road or walking nearby. School zones are typically marked with signs indicating a lower speed limit during specific hours when children are arriving or leaving school. Drivers are expected to be alert and cautious in these areas, as children can be unpredictable in their movements.

Additionally, reducing speed allows for more reaction time if a child suddenly appears in the roadway. This is a crucial consideration, as children may not always be aware of traffic rules or fully understand the dangers present. By slowing down, you not only comply with the law but also contribute to a safer environment around schools, ensuring the well-being of all students.
